Apple introduced its new devices and the latest versions of its operating systems at the WWDC event held last week. The Mac Pro model with the M2 Ultra processor was among the most attention-grabbing devices at the event. The Mac Pro, which is said to surpass the performance of the Intel processor model, showcased itself on Geekbench.

M2 Ultra processor outperforms Intel

The Mac Pro with the M2 Ultra processor achieved a score of 2,794 in single-core and 21,453 in multi-core performance on Geekbench. The highest Intel-based Mac Pro with a 28-core Xeon W processor, on the other hand, scored 1,378 and 10,390 in the same tests. These results confirmed Apple’s claim that the new Mac Pro is twice as fast as the fastest Intel-based model.

The new Mac Pro comes with two SSD storage slots. It features a striking render-designed metal surface and includes eight Thunderbolt ports and six PCI expansion slots. It supports up to a 76-core GPU and a 192 GB memory configuration.

Microsoft ends support for this Windows 10 version

Microsoft ends support for Windows 10 21H2, urging users to upgrade to Windows 11. No more updates after June, leaving devices vulnerable.

Compared to the previous model, the new Mac Pro comes with eight Thunderbolt 4 ports. It has six ports on the bottom and two on the top, providing twice as many connectivity options as the previous model. Additionally, it can support up to six Pro Display XDRs. It also offers Wi-Fi 6E connectivity and Bluetooth 5.3 support.

The Mac Pro has three USB-A ports and two HDMI ports. The HDMI ports support up to 8K resolution and a refresh rate of 240 Hz. It also has two 10 Gb Ethernet ports. The product includes a headphone jack as well.

The new Mac Pro is the first model introduced with the M2 Ultra processor. This processor includes a 24-core CPU that is 30% faster than the previous M1 Ultra and a GPU with up to 76 cores. Manufactured using a 5nm process and utilizing Apple’s ultra fusion technology, the processor is produced with two M2 Max chips, increasing the memory bandwidth up to 800 GB/s.

Although the new Mac Pro maintains the same overall design as the 2019 model, it no longer supports external graphics cards. Additionally, due to Apple’s unified memory architecture, the RAM cannot be upgraded by the user. Following last week’s pre-orders, the computer is now available for sale starting at $6,999 in international markets.

The Mac Pro with the M2 Ultra processor opens a new chapter in the world of computers with its impressive performance. What are your thoughts on the Mac Pro with the M2 Ultra processor and its performance? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments section.
